Opening time :
The bridge spanning the Mosel between Wincheringen and Wormeldange connects more than just two traditional winegrowing towns.
It also links two nations. The Alice Hartmann wine estate sits on the Luxembourg shore, right next to the border crossing.
The estate encompasses a colourful ensemble of structures with a historic garden: the newer building presents a minimalistic, modern architecture featuring edges and corners.
Its three storeys are home to the wine presses, space for wine tanks, bottling and storage.
It stands next to the traditional master residence, a marker of the property’s status as one of the most richly traditional Riesling estates in the entire country.
Hartmann wines are served at the monarch’s table.
As the crest of the grand duchy next to its name indicates, the estate is one of the official suppliers to the court.
Its holdings include a large share of the world-class ‘Koeppchen' site, likely the most famous vineyard in the grand duchy.
But it also holds a parcel in the Trittenheimer Apotheke in Germany, whose fruit is used to make highly distinctive and outstanding Rieslings.
The estate’s Chardonnay and fine crémants are also treasured by experts.
