Laurent & Rita Kox wine estate

The attractive estate house from 1909 is worth a visit all on its own.

But most visitors actually come for the unconventional wines from the Laurent & Rita Kox wine estate, which have earned a reputation as some of the finest found anywhere in the country.

Laurent Kox has long prided himself on innovative winemaking, and in fact was the first private winegrower in Luxembourg to produce crémant.

And almost 20 years ago he and his estate helped launch the renaissance of an almost forgotten grape variety, Saint Laurent.

He and his daughter Corinne now also produce wines in clay amphorae called kvevris.

The technique is of Georgian origin and is considered the oldest known method of wine production.

The Kox programme further includes vegan wines as well as wines produced without sulphates.  

It is the passion of the winegrowing family and the combination of traditional and modern methods that makes this estate so unusual.

And, of course, the wide range of wines available for tasting within its old walls.
