Brixius wine estate

The Brixius wine estate is tailor-made for a weekend outing. This goes beyond its lovely guest rooms; there's simply no denying that the landscape here truly looks like something from a picture book.

The estate is based in Maring, where Roman wine presses from the second century have been unearthed.
Winegrower Manual Brixius recently constructed a new building to host wine tastings. The clean architecture and dark grey facade of the modern tasting room offer a lovely contrast to the family's estate house. 

Its minimalist design keeps the focus squarely on pleasure and enjoyment. There are giant windows, warm wood elements and white walls to lend the space a cosy atmosphere.

In warm months, a large terrace beckons with plentiful room — an ideal spot to uncork the wines of the “Brix” line, as the Riesling expert has named his estate’s flagship range.

It's a bit of clever wordplay, since ‘Brix’ is both an abbreviation of Brixius as well as the Anglo-American unit for measuring must weight.
