Villa Huesgen wine estate

In the Mosel region, Traben-Trarbach and Bruno Möhring have been linked in the public mind for over 100 years now.

A century ago, Möhring, an architect and brilliant creative mind from Berlin, was commissioned to design the town's Brückentor bridge and a series of exclusive Art Nouveau-style buildings.

The Villa Huesgen was among those masterpieces. It is a total work of art, full of charming details and cultural refinement, whose interior spaces enjoyed the architect's deft touch just as much as its façade and garden.

Visitors can discover stained glass windows, lion-shaped waterspouts and a carved ape sliding down the pillars on the staircase railing.

The villa even features a house theatre under its roof, commissioned in 1904 by its affluent owner and winegrowing pioneer Adolph Huesgen. The estate has revolved around this architectural jewel ever since, both as a residence and locus of joyous social gatherings.

Adolph Huesgen V., known as “Ado”, is the 8th generation of his family to serve as master of the business, and gladly opens his home to visitors.

Whether in the Art Nouveau-style glass hall or the wine kabinett, not to mention the historical wine cellar and the expansive garden, he and his team welcomes guests for wine tastings and cultural events.
