Opening time :
This enchanted-looking estate villa rises above the landscape in a neo-Renaissance style.
The first vines were planted here two centuries ago, on sites such as the Serriger Würzberg, a name well known among fans of Saar wines.
The coat of arms on the gables of the house, itself covered with wild grapevines, hints at its prominent builder: this total work of art was created by then-Prussian Minister of State Clemens Freiherr von Schorlemer zu Lieser.
The family's primary seat was Schloss Lieser on the Mosel, as his wife Maria had inherited that prestigious edifice in the town of that name from her father, the fabulously wealthy industrialist Eduard Puricelli.
In 1904 the Reichsfreiherr arranged for the creation of an estate ensemble on the Saar, including a residence, pressing house and carriage house.
Today the estate and its wine grounds are historically listed.
2016 saw Dorothee Heimes and Ludger Neuwinger-Heimes assume responsibility for the estate, together with children Annalena, Mats and young winemaker Felix. The family is continuing the winemaking tradition under the name of their Würtzberg vineyard.
