The winners of the #moselarchitektur photo challenge have been determined

A total of 93 people from the entire Mosel region, Saarland, North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg, Saxony-Anhalt, Hamburg and Brussels took part in the #moselarchitektur photo challenge of the regional initiative "Faszination Mosel" in cooperation with the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Architects, Via mosel` and ARGO Edutainment Solutions GmbH and submitted their personal photos on the topic of "Mosel architecture" by the end of March.

"Show us your Mosel(le) architecture in a picture!" was the task. We were looking for photos of traditional buildings, typical Moselle squares, streets, alleys, architectural-historical details, digital ARGO in-app photos, best-practice examples of contemporary building and its path into the future of the region, extensions or renovations.
The submissions were as diverse as the competition brief. "Moselle architecture is not simply a building, a bridge, a castle, but from the viewer's perspective it can be a landscape with dry stone walls," was the statement made at the jury meeting on 11 April 2022.
Accordingly, the decision was difficult: After intensive deliberation, the seven-member jury selected ten winners. Criteria such as the implementation of the motto, the image design, the quality and technique and the effect achieved on the viewer were evaluated. The jurors attached particular importance to the fact that the reference to the Moselle is clearly recognisable.

The jury was also enthusiastic about the seven photos submitted by young people aged 12 to 17. On the theme of "Moselle architecture", photos submitted for the Youth Photo Award included the Porta Nigra, a group of angels in the cathedral garden and Thurant Castle.

The project is funded by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viniculture and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

The following prize winners have now been selected:
1st place: Julia Schneiders from Roxheim: "Pündericher Viadukt".
2nd place: Julia Trossen from Kröv: "Trossen Rieslingquartier in Kröv".
3rd place: Christoph Kolz from Berglicht: "Hochmosel bridge in the morning mist".

Of course, a wine will also be tasted on site to bring the wine architecture to life. The results of the joint shooting will be published on the Via mosel' website.
